The Lector serves the liturgical assembly by proclaiming the Sacred Scripture during the Liturgy of the Word. The worthy exercise of this role enables the Church to hear the Word of God more clearly and receive it with more open hearts. Such regular public nourishment with the biblical Word helps to sustain the community and contributes to its ongoing conversion and mission.
Extraordinary Ministers of the Eucharist serve the Eucharistic life of the parish community. They are appointed by the Bishop at the request of the pastor to assist with the sharing of the Eucharistic.
The altar server assists the members of the liturgical assembly by presenting or arranging vessels and other items used in the celebrations. Their reverent and efficient service enables other ministers to attend to their own roles while the liturgical actions unfold, with calm, order and appropriate decorum. As members of the assembly who are often visible to all, the altar servers also model good liturgical participation.
The role of the parish choir is to encourage, support and enhance the singing of the Assembly gathered for worship. For over 20 years, the Saturday Evening Choir has served in the Music Ministry at Holy Rosary Parish. Throughout the years, our members have come from a variety of musical backgrounds, and all levels of experience. We share a common desire to help the congregation enter more fully into the Liturgy through song.
The role of the parish choir is to encourage, support and enhance the singing of the Assembly gathered for worship.
Our parish recognizes that the youth choir is an integral part of the church community. Your child will learn important skills in music making and discipline, while at the same time experience collaborating as a team, as well as the joyful atmosphere of singing as a group.
The flower ministry is one of giving glory to God through beauty. We beautify our altar and church with flower arrangements and/or plants using our creative talents.
